WHEN HOPE RUNS DRY

We can make it through life without many things, but one of the things necessary for survival, is hope.  We can go for a period of time with little hope but when all hope is gone, we can't continue to carry on.

When we place our hope in the wrong things we end up empty handed.  It is vital to our emotional being, spiritual being and physical being that we have a constant supply of hope.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.  (Hebrews 11:1)

Continue reading Hebrews eleven and see the people who made it into the hall of faith. Each person listed in this chapter had one thing in common and that was faith. We see in Hebrews chapter one that faith is the substance of things hoped for.   If we lose hope, we tend to lose faith.  The scripture tells us the best way to hold onto that hope.

Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.  (Hebrews 10:23-25)

Each of us needs a constant renewing and refreshing by gathering together with the people of God and exhorting one another.
