THE GRACE OF GOD

Photo provided by Kathy Mitchell

And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who
hath enabled me, for that he counted
me faithful, putting me into the
ministry;  Who was before a blasphemer,
and a persecutor, and injurious: but I
obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly
in unbelief.  And the grace of our Lord was
exceeding abundant with faith and love
which is in Christ Jesus. This is a faithful saying,
and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus
came into the world to save sinners; of
whom I am chief.  Howbeit for this cause I
obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus
Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a
pattern to them which should hereafter
believe on him to life everlasting.  Now unto the
King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God,
be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

GOD IS ABLE TO MAKE ALL GRACE ABOUND TOWARD YOU

Photo provided by Kathy Mitchell

Every man according as he purposeth
in his heart, so let him give; not
grudgingly, or of necessity: for
God loveth a cheerful giver.
And God is able to make all grace
abound toward you; that ye, always
having all sufficiency in all things,
may abound to every good work:

FOR YOUR SAKES, HE BECAME POOR.

Photo provided by Kathy Mitchell

For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ,
that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes
he became poor, that ye through his poverty
might be rich.

LET US CLEANSE OURSELVES

Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved,
let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness
of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness
in the fear of God.

AMBASSADORS FOR CHRIST

Photo provided by Rennie Brandow

Now then we are ambassadors for Christ,
as though God did beseech you by us:
we pray you in Christ’s stead,
be ye reconciled to God.

For he hath made him to be sin for
us,  who knew no sin; that we might
be made the righteousness of God
in him.

WE WALK BY FAITH, AND NOT BY SIGHT

Photo provided by Kathy Mitchell

Therefore we are always confident,
knowing that, whilst we are at home
in the body, we are absent from the Lord:
(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
We are confident, I say, and willing rather
to be absent from the body, and
to be present with the Lord.  Wherefore we
labour, that, whether present or absent,
we may be accepted of him.  For we must
all appear before the judgment seat of
Christ; that every one may receive the
things done in his body, according to that
he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord,
we persuade men; but we are made
manifest unto God; and I trust also
are made manifest in your consciences.

THIS ALSO I SAW, THAT IT WAS FROM THE HAND OF GOD

Photo provided by Kathy Mitchell

There is nothing better for a
man, than that he should
eat and drink, and that
he should make his soul
enjoy good in his labour.
This also I saw, that it was
from the hand of God.

GO AND TELL

Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but
saith unto him, Go home to thy friends,
and tell them how great things the Lord
hath done for thee, and hath had
compassion on thee.

HE ONLY IS MY ROCK

Photo provided by Kathy Mitchell

He only is my rock and my salvation:
he is my defence; I shall not be moved.
In God is my salvation and my glory:
the rock of my strength, and my refuge,
is in God. Trust in him at all times;
ye people, pour out your heart before
him: God is a refuge for us.

LEAD ME TO THE ROCK

Photo provided by Macie Rae Haley

Hear my cry, O God; attend unto
my prayer.  From the end of the
earth will I cry unto thee, when
my heart is overwhelmed: lead
me to the rock that is higher than
I. For thou hast been a shelter for
me, and a strong tower from the
enemy.  I will abide in thy tabernacle
for ever: I will trust in the covert of
thy wings. Selah.  For thou, O God,
hast heard my vows: thou hast given
me the heritage of those that fear thy name.

QUIETLY WAIT FOR THE SALVATION OF THE LORD

Photo provided by Alllyson Jennings

It is of the LORD’S mercies that we
are not consumed, because his
compassions fail not.  They are new
every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
The LORD is my portion, saith my
soul; therefore will I hope in him.
The LORD is good unto them that wait
for him, to the soul that seeketh him.
It is good that a man should both hope
and quietly wait for the salvation of
the LORD.

LOOKING AT THINGS THAT ARE ETERNAL

for the things which are seen are temporal;
but the things which are not seen are eternal.

TROUBLED BUT NOT DESTROYED

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels,
that the excellency of the power may be of
God, and not of us. We are troubled on every
side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed,
but not in despair;  Persecuted, but not forsaken;
cast down, but not destroyed;  Always bearing
about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus,
that the life also of Jesus might be made
manifest in our body.

THAT MEN SHOULD FEAR GOD

Photo provided by Renie Brandow

I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it
shall be for ever: nothing can be
put to it, nor any thing taken from it:
and God doeth it, that men should fear
before him.

WHO HATH ASCENDED UP INTO HEAVEN

Photo provided by Allyson Jennings

Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended?
who hath gathered the wind in his fists?
who hath bound the waters in a garment?
who hath established all the ends of the earth?
what is his name, and what is his son’s
name, if thou canst tell?  Every word of
God is pure: he is a shield unto them that
put their trust in him.

BLESSED BE THE NAME OF THE LORD

Renie Brandow

And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all
that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself
put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth
from the presence of the LORD.  And there
was a day when his sons and his daughters
were eating and drinking wine in their
eldest brother’s house:  And there came a
messenger unto Job, and said, The oxen
were plowing, and the asses feeding
beside them  And the Sabeans fell upon
them, and took them away; yea, they
have slain the servants with the edge of
the sword; and I only am escaped
alone to tell thee. While he was yet speaking,
there came also another, and said, The
fire of God is fallen from heaven, and
hath burned up the sheep, and the servants,
and consumed them; and I only
am escaped alone to tell thee.  While he
was yet speaking, there came also another,
and said, The Chaldeans made out three
bands, and fell upon the camels, and have
carried them away, yea, and slain the
servants with the edge of the sword;
and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.
While he was yet speaking, there
came also another, and said, Thy sons
and thy daughters were eating and
drinking wine in their eldest brother’s
house: And, behold, there came a great
wind from the wilderness, and smote the four
corners of the house, and it fell upon the
young men, and they are dead; and I
only am escaped alone to tell thee.
Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and
shaved his head, and fell down upon the
ground, and worshipped,  And said, Naked
came I out of my mother’s womb, and naked
shall I return thither: the LORD gave,
and the LORD hath taken away; blessed
be the name of the LORD.  In all this Job
sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.

PRESERVE ME, O GOD

Photo provided by Renie Brandow

Preserve me, O God: for in
thee do I put my trust. O my soul,
thou hast said unto the LORD, Thou
art my Lord: my goodness extendeth
not to thee; But to the saints that are
in the earth, and to the excellent, in
whom is all my delight.  Their sorrows
shall be multiplied that hasten after another
god: their drink offerings of blood will I
not offer, nor take up their names into
my lips.  The LORD is the portion of
mine inheritance and of my cup: thou
maintainest my lot.  The lines are fallen
unto me in pleasant places; yea, I
have a goodly heritage.  I will bless the
LORD, who hath given me counsel: my
reins also instruct me in the night seasons.
I have set the LORD always before me:
because he is at my right hand, I
shall not be moved.  Therefore my heart is
glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh
also shall rest in hope. For thou wilt not leave
my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer
thine Holy One to see corruption.  Thou wilt
shew me the path of life: in thy presence
is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there
are pleasures for evermore.

THE LORD LOOKED DOWN FROM HEAVEN

Photo provided by Allyson Jennings

The LORD looked down from heaven
upon the children of men, to see
if there were any that did understand
and seek God.  They are all gone
aside, they are all together become
filthy: there is none that doeth
good, no, not one.

GOD HATH SHINED IN OUR HEARTS

Photo provided by Allyson Jennings

For God, who commanded the light to shine
out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts,
to give the light of the knowledge of the
glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
But we have this treasure in earthen
vessels, that the excellency of the power
may be of God, and not of us.

RISE UP MY LOVE AND COME AWAY

Photo provided by Renie Brandow

My beloved spake, and said unto me,
Rise up, my love, my fair one, and
come away. For, lo, the winter is past,
the rain is over and gone;  The flowers
appear on the earth; the time of the
singing of birds is come, and the voice
of the turtle is heard in our land;

A CITY SET ON A HILL

Photo provided by Allyson Jennings

Ye are the light of the world. A city
that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
Neither do men light a candle, and put
it under a bushel, but on a candlestick;
and it giveth light unto all that are
in the house. Let your light so shine
before men, that they may see your good
works, and glorify your Father which
is in heaven.

IN THE DAY OF TROUBLE

Photo provided by Macie Rae

For in the time of trouble he shall hide me
in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle
shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon
a rock.  And now shall mine head be lifted
up above mine enemies round about me:
therefore will I offer in his tabernacle
sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will
sing praises unto the LORD.   Hear, O
LORD, when I cry with my voice: have
mercy also upon me, and answer me.
When thou saidst, Seek ye my face;
my heart said unto thee, Thy face,
LORD, will I seek.
