WAKE UP!

The topic of pornography came up
today and I would like to take a little time to
touch on this subject as most men, woman or
teenager do not consider this when they
are searching the web. I ran across an
employee viewing very explicit photos one
day at a place I worked and I began
to pray the Lord would show me the
words to give him to help him
understand what he was doing.

As I sat and prayed the Lord laid on
my heart, "Do you not work at a factory"?
If so, use that to show him. So I went out
onto the factory floor and took him
for a walk. So here is a question
I ask you.

If you go onto the web and
order 50 blue computers, how many blue
computers do I have to produce on
this factory floor to meet your demand?

If you go onto the web and order 1000
white cell phones, how many white cell
phones do I have to produce to meet
your demand?

If you have 10,000 people
clicking on a button at one item per
day how many items do you have to
produce to meet that demand? Are you
starting to get the picture?

We have a nation full of not only men
but women and teenagers hitting the
web daily looking at sexually explicit photo's
(in secret) thinking it's innocent and
will not hurt anyone. If you don't
think it drives the demand up than
let me ask you this question. Why has
sex trafficking skyrocketed? Rape and
incest and every sexual sin is soaring
out of control. Why has Utah set
pornography as a Health Issue now
because of all the problems it has
been causing?

We better wake up because it is
an addiction and the more people addicted
to it the more the demand is raised and
it could be your child, grandchild, wife
or friend who becomes the next item
placed on the assembly line to meet
the demand of all that is done in secret.
When I worked at the factory we had
a Motto, "Relentless Drive To Win".
That same motto is out there on the
heads of people's lives.  Whether
your click is an minor site, major site
or even an advertisement that seems
innocent but exploits a human being
than you have just added to the
demand of a product and they
will relentlessly go out and find
that product to meet the demand
being requested.

Ask the person who is at the end
of the rope and lost everything they
own, their family, their dignity, their
jobs and even their sanity what it cost
them.  As they begin to grew deeper
and deeper into the addiction they
began to do things they would have
never even considered doing prior
to this time.  I have watched
some of the most Godly men fall
into this trap since the year 2000.
Some have lost it all and they
still can't shake free.  Some have
gone to prison or committed suicide
because of this addiction.

It's real!

It's costing our nation far more
than any of us want to admit.

We just keep sweeping it under the
rug thinking it will go away.
We'll it's not going away!

It's slapping us in the face

For nothing is secret, that shall
not be made manifest; neither any
thing hid, that shall not be known and
come abroad.

THAT THE WORLD WILL KNOW

The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon
me; because the LORD hath anointed
me to preach good tidings unto the
meek; he hath sent me to bind up
the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to
the captives, and the opening of the prison
to them that are bound;  To proclaim the
acceptable year of the LORD, and the day
of vengeance of our God; to comfort
all that mourn;  To appoint unto them
that mourn in Zion,  to give unto them
beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for
mourning, the garment of praise for
the spirit of heaviness; that they might
be called trees of righteousness,
the planting of the LORD, that he
might be glorified.  And they shall
build the old wastes,  they shall raise up
the former desolations, and they shall
repair the waste cities, the desolations
of many generations.  And strangers
shall stand and feed your flocks,
and the sons of the alien shall be your
plowmen and your vinedressers.  But ye
shall be named the Priests of the LORD:
men shall call you the Ministers of our
God: ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles,
and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves.
For your shame ye shall have double;
and for confusion they shall rejoice
in their portion: therefore in their land
they shall possess the double: everlasting
joy shall be unto them. For I the LORD
love judgment, I hate robbery for burnt
offering; and I will direct their work in truth,
and I will make an everlasting covenant with
them.  And their seed shall be known among
the Gentiles, and their offspring among
the people: all that see them shall
acknowledge them, that they are the seed
which the LORD hath blessed. I will greatly
rejoice in the LORD,  my soul shall be joyful
in my God; for he hath clothed me with
the garments of salvation, he hath covered
me with the robe of righteousness, as a
bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments,
and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.
For as the earth bringeth forth her bud,
and as the garden causeth the things that are
sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord GOD will
cause righteousness and praise to spring
forth before all the nations.

STAYING ON THE RIGHT PATH

Working in a major city can be quite a
challenge.  As I drive to work the last
few weeks instead of taking the train, I
realized how easy it is to get on the
wrong road.  Sometimes I drive around
trying to find one particular road
and I get on a one way going
home and it takes me too far.
I take an exit and try to get back
on a road close to what I think
is correct and when I look at my
map I once again realize that I'm
way off track.

Finally after missing the road two
or three times I decide to pull into
a parking lot and set my map so it
speaks to me the directions so that I
will be sure to do it correctly.

All set, I'm ready to make forward
progress finding my way back home.
Up over the overpass and back down
into the downtown she leads me.  Turn
right on this street, turn left in two blocks
and back up onto the overpass.  After doing
this two times I realized even the lady
giving directions was not able to
successfully get out of downtown and
point me in the right direction towards
my house.

After driving around for thirty minutes I
decide to get on one of the major
expressways and even if I have to
pay a toll at least I will be able to arrive
at home before midnight or later.

One day as I entered downtown I looked
up and the tallest building has a sign on it.
It has four extending small wings, one north,
one south, one east and one west.
The building beside it is slightly smaller.
I noticed the wording was rather easy to
see on the smaller building.  I lined
myself up into the crevice
of one of the wings on the tallest
building and I then fixed my eyes on
the letters of the building right beside it
and noticed I was straight centered
in front of the words on the building.
Since those letters were large I would
see them without any trouble no matter
where I was.  Once I was lined
up I began to drive in a straight path
making sure I was totally lined up
in the crevice of the one building
and straight in front of the second
building.

Much to my surprise instead of taking
two hours to arrive home, I was able to
arrive in the normal time frame.
I didn't get lost one time and the drive
was quite pleasant.

Our spiritual walk is much the same.
We wonder around aimlessly
trying to find the right path.  We go
around in circles for not only
hours but for months or years
without any direction in our lives.

I know this is just an example
but as I began to drive home from
work that day I thought of these
scriptures and began to make the
parallel in my daily walk and
my spiritual walk and I saw
that it needed to resemble the
same pattern

We need to make a conscious choice
to line ourselves up in the crevice of
God's wings.

He that dwelleth in the secret place
of the most High shall abide under
the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the LORD, He is my
refuge and my fortress: my God;
in him will I trust.

Psalms 91:1

We also need to set our eyes on Jesus
and line our life up with His ways and I
promise we will not go astray.  He will
guide us into the right path and
open doors for us that only He
has to power to do. Our hearts
will find it's way home when
our eyes are fixed on Him.

 Keep thy heart with all diligence;
for out of it are the issues of life.
Put away from thee a froward mouth,
and perverse lips put far from thee.
Let thine eyes look right on,
and let thine eyelids look straight
before thee.  Ponder the path of thy feet,
and let all thy ways be established.
Turn not to the right hand nor to
the left: remove thy foot from evil.
My son, attend unto my wisdom,
and bow thine ear to my
understanding: That thou mayest
regard discretion, and that thy lips
may keep knowledge.

Proverbs 4:23 - 5:2

With my whole heart have I
sought thee: O let me not wander from
thy commandments.  Thy word have I hid
in mine heart, that I might not
sin against thee.  Blessed art thou, O LORD:
teach me thy statutes.  With my lips have I
declared all the judgments of thy mouth.
I have rejoiced in the way of thy
testimonies, as much as in all riches.
I will meditate in thy precepts,
and have respect unto thy ways.
I will delight myself in thy statutes:
I will not forget thy word.

GLEANING AFTER THE REAPERS

Yesterday as I was driving to
work I was listening to Ruth on audio
books.  When it came to Ruth 2:7
I sorta remained there as the reader
went on.  Some reason I tend to
do that.  I start tearing apart
the words, turning them
upside down and inside out.
My new boss gave me a
title at my office and I guess
it might be fitting for other areas of
my life also.  He calls me the
premo forensic accountant.
I do the same with accounting, as I
take it apart and turn it inside out
and have been able to recover
 thousands of dollars in every
offices I've worked at the last
six years that others seem
to let fall through the cracks.

As I was tearing this verse apart
today, I begin to dwell
on the fact that we need more
gleaners after the reapers
going out into the fields.

Most of us go to church, we
sit and listen to the sermon and
we go out and invite others to
come to church with us so they
can also sit and listen to the pastor
teach the scripture.  Sometimes we
share a scripture or two with a friend
or we go on a visitation trip with the
church from time to time but as for
gleaning we don't tend to do this often.

What I mean by gleaning is we go
out and we find those that others have
let fall by the wayside by accident or
even those that were tossed aside
because they didn't quite fit into
the perfect category some people
try to fit everyone into. There are
some that never felt their clothing
was perfect enough or their speech
was etiquette enough so they fell
by the wayside.

Maybe our prayer should become the
prayer of Ruth.  Lord allow me to
glean and gather after the reapers
(our pastor's and leaders) among
the sheaves.

God blessed Ruth in a powerful way
and even asked Boaz to drop a few
extra barley by the wayside for Ruth
to glean.

Ruth 2:7
And she said, I pray you,
let me glean and gather
after the reapers among
the sheaves: so she came,
and hath continued even
from the morning until now,
that she tarried a little
in the house.

Ruth 2:12
The LORD recompense thy work,
and a full reward be given thee
of the LORD God of Israel,
under whose wings thou art come
to trust.

GOD HATH SHINED IN OUR HEARTS

Cricket White Green

Therefore seeing we have this ministry,
 as we have received mercy, we faint not;
But have renounced the hidden things
of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness,
nor handling the word of God deceitfully;
but by manifestation of the truth commending
ourselves to every man’s conscience in
the sight of God. But if our gospel be hid,
it is hid to them that are lost: In whom
the god of this world hath blinded the minds
of them which believe not, lest the light
of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is
the image of God, should shine unto them.
For we preach not ourselves, but Christ
Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your
servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, who
commanded the light to shine out of
darkness, hath shined in our hearts,
to give the light of the knowledge of the
glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
But we have this treasure in earthen
vessels, that the excellency of the
power may be of God, and not of us.
We are troubled on every side, yet not
distressed; we are perplexed, but not
in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken;
cast down, but not destroyed;  Always
bearing about in the body the dying of the
Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus
might be made manifest in our body.
For we which live are alway delivered
unto death for Jesus’ sake, that the life also
of Jesus might be made manifest in our
mortal flesh.  So then death worketh in us,
but life in you.  We having the same spirit
of faith, according as it is written, I believed,
and therefore have I spoken; we also believe,
and therefore speak;  Knowing that he which
raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us
also by Jesus, and shall present us with you.
For all things are for your sakes, that the
abundant grace might through the thanksgiving
of many redound to the glory of God.  For
which cause we faint not; but though our
outward man perish, yet the inward
man is renewed day by day.
For our light affliction, which is but for
a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding
and eternal weight of glory; While we look
not at the things which are seen, but at
the things which are not seen: for the things
which are seen are temporal; but the things
which are not seen are eternal.

A MAN'S MOUTH ARE AS DEEP WATERS

The words of a man’s mouth are as
deep waters, and the wellspring of
wisdom as a flowing brook.  It is not good
to accept the person of the wicked,
to overthrow the righteous in judgment.
A fool’s lips enter into contention,
and his mouth calleth for strokes.
A fool’s mouth is his destruction,
and his lips are the snare of his soul.
The words of a talebearer are as wounds,
and they go down into the innermost
parts of the belly.  He also that is slothful
in his work is brother to him that is a
great waster.

The name of the LORD is a
strong tower: the righteous runneth into
it, and is safe.  The rich man’s wealth is his
strong city, and as an high wall in his
own conceit.  Before destruction the
heart of man is haughty, and before
honour is humility. He that answereth a
matter before he heareth it, it is folly
and shame unto him.  The spirit of a man
will sustain his infirmity; but a wounded
spirit who can bear?  The heart of the prudent
getteth knowledge; and the ear of the wise
seeketh knowledge.

BEING RECONCILED TO CHRIST AND NOT RELIGION

Are you selling the gospel of Jesus Christ
or are you giving it to the world?
Growing up in a Christian home
and attending service every time the
church doors opened, then becoming
a minister's wife I can honestly
say that many times as much as we
try not to, we find ourselves getting
trapped into selling the gospel
instead of giving it away.  When
I say this I am not saying that we
are actually making people pay
money to receive it.  What I am saying
is we lead people to believe that we
must dress a certain way, walk a
certain walk and if you look
closely you will notice even hair
styles change to conform and various
other things change in a person's life
depending on which religion they follow.
They are striving to please the Lord
by doing these things people tell them
to do instead of reconciling their
hearts to God.  We find ourselves spending
more time trying not to look like the
world outwardly instead of reconciling
our hearts because people can't see our
hearts but they can see the outward
appearance, so we put on a show
for them to see instead of truly
reconciling our hearts to God.

When I turned about thirty-nine
years old  I became so disgusted
with what I was seeing take place
within the body of Christ.  I still
longed to follow the Lord but I was
sick and tired of paying for a gospel
and getting zero returns.  Actually the
returns were in the negative numbers
by far as my mother had committed
suicide, my brothers and sisters had
turned away from God and now I was
watching my own family break into
fragments.  Nobody seemed to know
how to help me.  My returns were not
even coming back as zero they were
far worse than that.

This was not an anger that arose
with me, where I told the church
off or stopped attending but it was
an anger where I took a stand
and changed who I was within the body
of Christ.  Up until this point I had
been reconciling my life to my husband,
the deacon body, the women within the
church who had the highest standards
and to the couples who felt I should be
the perfect pastor's wife so their children
would grow up seeing a Godly example.
This type living left me spiritually
bankrupt.

I had learned that wearing a dress
everyday was what Godly women do.
Godly women not only do not adorn
themselves with jewels and costly
apparel but they rid their home
and their children of any of these
things also.  No red bows on your
front door during Christmas lest you
lead someone astray about following
after idols.  At the end of my journey
I found myself empty and broken.

Being reconciled to the church brings
you to this point but being reconciled
to God is a total new story.  When I
attend church now there are times I
wear slacks. I have had a few ladies
gasp and say something and my response
has been if the fruit of my life is alive
wearing slacks and dead wearing a dress
then it is far better for me to be wearing
slacks because the woman who wears
something on the outside and is inwardly
dead has reconciled their lives to a group
of believers who will leave them totally
bankrupt one day.  Doing without
celebrating Easter, Christmas and all the
other holidays is not what God called us
to, He called us to be reconciled to him.

Once we are reconciled to him, if we feel
that is what we should do, we realize that
it's for us not that we have to force it upon
everyone that walks into the Sunday School
class or everyone that crosses our path.
If somewhere down the line I feel that
dressing a specific way is what God has
called me to do then who am I to force
you into my standards because I do it  If
I do then you are reconciling yourself
to me and  not reconciling yourself to
Christ and you will become angry and
turn completely away from the very one
who died for you and gave you freedom
to live.

Now you may be a little upset by now
while reading and thinking I am breaking
down the body of Christ.  My prayer is
not to break down the body of Christ
but to set it free and to make it much
stronger.  For you see it was after
I abolished all the legalistic demands
on my life and started walking with
the Lord and in His love and grace that
I saw fruit coming forth.  Up until this
time the only fruit I was getting was
rotten fruit, dead fruit that was not
bringing me into the joy the Lord.   It
was not leading me to reconcile myself
to the Savior but to a set of stardards
that I couldn't meet up to no matter
how hard I tried.

Do I still have bad things happen
in my life?  Yes, but when I am
reconciled to Christ and I understand
he set me free and the freedom to share
the gospel of Jesus with no strings
attached and the fruit of righteousness
starts bursting forth, then I can drink
from those wells as I see them springing
up with fruit, even though the bad things
are still happening.

When I reconcile myself
to Christ the pain is much easier to bare
when I realize the pain is due to
planting the harvest and watering
it instead of trying to protect the church
and it's children by my outward apparel.

Christ can take care of our reputation
when we reconcile ourselves to him
but when we reconcile ourselves to the
church we end up destroying our own
reputation and many times we destroy
the reputation of the church also.

Let's start reconciling ourselves to Jesus
Christ and bringing forth much fruit.

And all things are of God, who hath
reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ,
and hath given to us the ministry of
reconciliation;  To wit, that God was in
Christ, reconciling the world unto himself,
not imputing their trespasses unto them;
and hath committed unto us the word
of reconciliation.  Now then we are
ambassadors for Christ, as though God did
beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s
stead, be ye reconciled to God.

MY SOUL, WAIT THOU UPON GOD

Truly my soul waiteth upon God:
from him cometh my salvation.
He only is my rock and my
salvation; he is my defence;
I shall not be greatly moved.
How long will ye imagine mischief
against a man? ye shall be slain
all of you: as a bowing wall shall
ye be, and as a tottering fence.
They only consult to cast him down
from his excellency: they delight in
lies: they bless with their mouth,
but they curse inwardly. Selah. My soul,
wait thou only upon God; for my
expectation is from him. He only is my
rock and my salvation: he is my
defence; I shall not be moved.
In God is my salvation and my
glory: the rock of my strength,
and my refuge, is in God. Trust in him
at all times; ye people, pour out
your heart before him: God is a refuge
for us. Selah. Surely men of low
degree are vanity, and men of high degree
are a lie: to be laid in the balance,
they are altogether lighter than vanity.
Trust not in oppression, and become
not vain in robbery: if riches increase,
set not your heart upon them. God hath
spoken once; twice have I heard this;
that power belongeth unto God. Also unto
thee, O Lord, belongeth mercy: for thou
renderest to every man according to his work.

Psalm 62

FULL ASSURANCE OF HOPE

Photo provided by Cricket White Green

And we desire that every one of you do
shew the same diligence to the full
assurance of hope unto the end:  That
ye be not slothful, but followers
of them who through faith and
patience inherit the promises.
For when God made promise to
Abraham, because he could swear
by no greater, he sware by himself,
Saying, Surely blessing I will bless
thee, and multiplying I will multiply
thee.  And so, after he had patiently
endured, he obtained the promise.
For men verily swear by the greater:
and an oath for confirmation is to
them an end of all strife.  Wherein
God, willing more abundantly to
shew unto the heirs of promise
the immutability of his counsel,
confirmed it by an oath:  That by
two immutable things, in which
it was impossible for God to lie, we
might have a strong consolation,
who have fled for refuge to lay
hold upon the hope set before us:
Which hope we have as an
anchor of the soul, both sure and
stedfast, and which entereth into
that within the veil;

GROWING IN GRACE

But grow in grace, and in the knowledge
of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
To him be glory both now and for
ever. Amen.  That which was from
the beginning, which we have heard,
which we have seen with our eyes,
which we have looked upon, and
our hands have handled, of the
Word of life; (For the life was
manifested, and we have seen it,
and bear witness, and shew unto
you that eternal life, which was
with the Father, and was manifested
unto us;)  That which we have seen
and heard declare we unto you,
that ye also may have fellowship
with us: and truly our fellowship
is with the Father, and with his
Son Jesus Christ.  And these
things write we unto you, that
your joy may be full.

STANDING STRONG IN THE POWER OF HIS MIGHT

Photo taken by Kathy Mitchell

As I was praying I began to think
about the church in Kermit where we
lived.  The church there was brought
to the brink and had to make a decision
as to whether to allow the mass
of children that showed up to hear about
Christ get to continue coming or should
we turn them away.  I am so thankful that
as our church met that night that we had
a Joshua and Caleb in the midst.  There
were also others who agreed this was much
larger than what the church could deal
with.  As we met and prayed the walls
began to fall and it was decided to go
forth and allow the children to come.
Even if the money was not available
and we were absolutely positive that the
children would surely make a mess in the
halls and our furniture may not be as nice
as it could be if we just asked them to stop
coming, we were willing to take that risk.
This little church went from 15 to
over 100 faster than we could think.  We
all began to question what in the world was
going on.  We didn't have the money
to feed them and yet they were coming to eat.
We didn't have the teachers to teach them
yet they walked into the classes expecting
someone to show up and teach.  It was
decided we would go forth with the
power of the Holy Spirit leading and
the money began to come in from places
that left us scratching our heads once again
as to this mighty God we served.

Wednesday night as our pastor was teaching
my mind took off in a different direction as
I began to wonder what required more
strength from Joshua and Caleb.  Was
standing up and saying we can go in and take
these giants and take this land take the most
strength or did it actually require more of
their strength because of the decision that
was made.   There were ten that shutter with
fear and proclaimed that the land was filled with
giants greater and stronger than the children of Israel
and that they would surely die if they tried to go in.

I was reflecting this morning upon that thought.
Because of the decision that was made by the
children of Israel,  it required Joshua and Caleb
to stay and wonder in the wilderness with the
defeated foe for forty years.

They watch as the children of  Israel
suffered and struggled walking through the
wilderness day in and day  out.  They had to
walk the same path and eat the same food
that the defeated people ate.  They had to listen
to the cries of the people and they had to
do all they could do to stay focused on the
promise that one day they would go into that
land and they would posses the land that was
flowing with milk and honey.  I am thinking
this is where they had to be strong in the Lord
and the power of his might also.  They
didn't demand the children move forward
into the land but they waited, watched and
prayed until the day came that they went
into the promise land together and yes they
did posses the land.

As I reflected on our church in Kermit and
the decision they made I began to realize
that had they not made that decision I may
have never written the books the I have written
and that God is using in a powerful way
each and every day.

It has taken much faith and
strength to go forward and do the things I
am doing but I say thanks to that group
of people who attended that night that
said, "Let's go forth in the name of
the Lord."  You gave me hope to
keep moving on and I believe God
will pour out his blessing on you
because you were strong in the Lord
and you gave all you had and I
believe when you stand before
the throne you will hear the words,
"Well done my good and faithful servants."

So as I pray this morning for one of the
churches reading the Digging a Well book
and praying about going forward, I pray
you go forth in the name of the Lord and
realize what blessings can break out upon
the people as you move forward.  I pray
you not hold the Joshua's and Caleb back
and make them walk through the wilderness
journey day in and day out eating the dry and
barren fruits. when they could be
walking in the blessing and delight of the
Lord.  But I also pray if you feel the mountain
is too big to climb and you are filled with
fear then the Joshua and Caleb's within the body
of Christ will wait, watch and pray together
until the day all can stand and say, "This promise
belongs to us and we will go forth in the power
of his might.  Until that day!

Stand Strong in the Power of His Might!

And they came unto the brook of Eshcol,
and cut down from thence a branch with
one cluster of grapes, and they bare it
between two upon a staff; and they
brought of the pomegranates, and
of the figs.  The place was called
the brook Eshcol, because of the
cluster of grapes which the children
of Israel cut down from thence.
And they returned from searching
of the land after forty days.  And
they went and came to Moses,
and to Aaron, and to all the
congregation of the children of
Israel, unto the wilderness of Paran,
to Kadesh; and brought back word
unto them, and unto all the congregation,
and shewed them the fruit of the land.
And they told him, and said, We
came unto the land whither thou
sentest us, and surely it floweth
with milk and honey; and this
is the fruit of it.  Nevertheless
the people be strong that dwell
in the land, and the cities are walled,
and very great: and moreover we
saw the children of Anak there.
The Amalekites dwell in the land
of the south: and the Hittites, and
the Jebusites, and the Amorites,
dwell in the mountains: and the
Canaanites dwell by the sea,
and by the coast of Jordan.
And Caleb stilled the people before
Moses, and said, Let us go up at once,
and possess it; for we are well able to
overcome it.  But the men that went
up with him said,  We be not able to
go up against the people;
for they are stronger than we.
And they brought up an evil report
of the land which they had searched
unto the children of Israel, saying,
The land, through which we have
gone to search it, is a land that eateth
up the inhabitants thereof; and all the
people that we saw in it are men of a
great stature.  And there we saw the
giants, the sons of Anak, which come
of the giants: and we were in our
own sight as grasshoppers, and so
we were in their sight.

Numbers 13:23-33

For those who choose to go forth in the
name of the Lord he says, in Nehemiah 9:8,
"You found his heart faithful to you, and you
made a covenant with him to give to his
decendants  the land of the Canannites, Hittites,
Amorites, Perizzites, Jebusites and Girgashites.
You have kept Your Promise because
You are Righteous.
