OLD THINGS ARE PASSED AWAY

Photo provided by Allyson Jennings

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new
creature: old things are passed away; behold,
all things are become new. And all things are
of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by
Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry
of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ,
reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing
their trespasses unto them; and hath committed
unto us the word of reconciliation.  Now then we
are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did
beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead,
be ye reconciled to God.

neither be thou dismayed: for
the LORD thy God is with thee

THE LORD IS MY ROCK

Photo provided by Geoff Fierce

Rocks play a major part in our lives.  Why would the Psalmist say,” The Lord is my Rock?”

After saying it, he listed the ways the Lord was the one he relied on by saying.  “He is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, the one I trust in; my buckler and the horn of my salvation; and my high tower.”

What the Psalmist, David was saying is, “Jesus, you are my all in all.”

Psalm 18:1-2  I will love thee, O LORD, my strength. The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

Look at the list below and fill in ways rocks are used.  From the moment of birth until the moment we die and laid in the ground; we are able to see the effect of rocks on our lives through medical treatment, aromatherapy, food, décor, highways, cosmetics, jewelry, and even when we close our eyes to death, a stone is positioned at the head of the tomb.

Rocks are firm, stable, and faithful.

List weapons constructed from rocks.

List physical structures made from rocks.

List ways rocks can be used in beauty products.

List several means of warmth created from rocks

List ways rocks are used to aid in health.

List ways rocks are used to aid in cooking.

List ways rocks are used to aid in the infrastructure of a city.

List decorations in your home that are made from rock.

List different things you can create with marble.

As you can see by the exercise above, we could not make it a day without the use of rocks in our lives.  Why would we think we could possibly make it a day without the Lord?

IN WHOM WE HAVE FORGIVENESS THROUGH HIS BLOOD

Photo provided by Renie Brandow

Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath
made us meet to be partakers of the
inheritance of the saints in light:
Who hath delivered us from the
power of darkness, and hath translated
us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
In whom we have redemption through
his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
Who is the image of the invisible
God, the firstborn of every creature:
For by him were all things created, that
are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible
and invisible, whether they be thrones, or
dominions, or principalities, or powers: all
things were created by him, and for him:
And he is before all things, and
by him all things consist.

THE HOPE THAT IS LAID UP FOR YOU IN HEAVEN

Photo provided by Kathy Mitchell

For the hope which is laid up for you in
heaven, whereof ye heard before in the
word of the truth of the gospel; Which
is come unto you, as it is in all the world;
and bringeth forth fruit, as it doth
also in you, since the day ye heard of it,
and knew the grace of God in truth:

LEARNING CONTENTMENT

Photo provided by Renie Brandow

Those things, which ye have both learned,
and received, and heard, and seen in me,
do: and the God of peace shall be with you.
But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now
at the last your care of me hath flourished
again; wherein ye were also careful,
but ye lacked opportunity. Not that I speak
in respect of want: for I have learned,
in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be
content.  I know both how to be abased,
and I know how to abound: every where
and in all things I am instructed both to
be full and to be hungry, both to
abound and to suffer need.
I can do all things through Christ
which strengtheneth me.

CALL UPON THE NAME OF THE LORD

LORD, to serve him with one consent.

I KNOW THE PLANS I HAVE FOR YOU!

Photo provided by Renie Brandow

For I know the thoughts that I think toward
you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace,
and not of evil, to give you an expected
end.  Then shall ye call upon me, and ye
shall go and pray unto me, and I will
hearken unto you.  And ye shall seek me,
and find me, when ye shall search for
me with all your heart.  And I will be
found of you, saith the LORD:

I WILL FEED MY FLOCK

Photo provided by Arlinda Butzlaff Munger

I will feed my flock, and I will
cause them to lie down, saith the
Lord GOD. I will seek that which
was lost, and bring again that which
was driven away, and will bind
up that which was broken, and will
strengthen that which was sick: but I
will destroy the fat and the strong; I
will feed them with judgment.

WHEN MY SOUL FAINTED I REMEMBERED THE LORD

Photo provided by Kathy Mitchell

I went down to the bottoms of the
mountains; the earth with her bars
was about me for ever: yet hast thou
brought up my life from corruption,
O LORD my God. When my soul
fainted within me I remembered
the LORD: and my prayer came in
unto thee, into thine holy temple.
They that observe lying vanities
forsake their own mercy. But I
will sacrifice unto thee with the
voice of thanksgiving; I will
pay that that I have vowed.
Salvation is of the LORD.

WALK WORTHY

Photo provided by Balinda Zimmerman

For this cause we also, since the day
we heard it, do not cease to pray for
you, and to desire that ye might be
filled with the knowledge of his will
in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;
That ye might walk worthy of the Lord
unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every
good work, and increasing in the knowledge
of God; Strengthened with all might,
according to his glorious power, unto all
patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;
Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath
made us meet to be partakers of the
inheritance of the saints in light:  Who
hath delivered us from the power of darkness,
and hath translated us into the kingdom
of his dear Son:

WHEN YOUR LIFE REVOLVES AROUND GOD; YOU WILL SHINE

Photo provided by Karen Elledge Walker

God doesn't revolve around you. You were created to revolve around Him. There are times your life looks different to the world and we usually know when those times are. It's up to you how much you reflect His glory.

🌕 There are times your life is fully in line with the Lord and you radiant His glory all over your life. People can see it in every area, every day, and every step you take.

🌔 There are times you slip away and fulfill your own desires. Yes, the world sees that also, because you have slightly moved away from the light source.

🌓 As you move further away your light shines less. And yes, the world can see when we move to this stage.

🌑 as time passes you move completely away and start living life for yourself and His light is not able to be seen at all

🌓 You are not destined to stay in darkness and at any time you can start moving back into His glorious light. Yes, the world will recognize when you do.

🌔 Keep moving back to the Lord. It may be a slow process. WALK it. You will be surprised when one day you are fully back inline with the Father.

🌕 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

Galatians 5:16-18

Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Matthew 5:14-16

GLADNESS IN MY HEART

Photo provided by Renie Brandow

There be many that say, Who will shew
us any good? LORD, lift thou up the
light of thy countenance upon us.  Thou
hast put gladness in my heart, more
than in the time that their corn and
their wine increased. I will both lay
me down in peace, and sleep: for thou,
LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.

I WILL DIRECT MY PRAYER

Photo provided by Brian Bohannon

Give ear to my words, O LORD,
consider my meditation. Hearken unto
the voice of my cry, my King, and
my God: for unto thee will I pray.  My
voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O
LORD; in the morning will I direct
my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

BE WISE AND GUIDE YOUR HEART

Let not thine heart envy sinners:
but be thou in the fear of
the LORD all the day long.

thine expectation shall not be cut
off.  Hear thou, my son, and be
wise, and guide thine heart in
the way.

GREAT IS THY FAITHFULNESS

Photo provided by Leroy Ochoa

It is of the LORD’S mercies that we
are not consumed, because his
compassions fail not.  They are new
every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
The LORD is my portion, saith my
soul; therefore will I hope in him.
The LORD is good unto them that
wait for him, to the soul that
seeketh him.

THE JOY OF THE LORD IS MY STRENGTH

Photo provided by Allyson Jennings

So they read in the book in the law of God
distinctly, and gave the sense, and
caused them to understand the reading.
And Nehemiah, which is the Tirshatha,
and Ezra the priest the scribe, and the
Levites that taught the people, said unto
all the people, This day is holy unto the
LORD your God; mourn not, nor weep.
For all the people wept, when they
heard the words of the law.  Then
he said unto them, Go your way,
eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and
send portions unto them for whom
nothing is prepared: for this day is
holy unto our Lord: neither be ye
sorry; for the joy of the LORD is
your strength.

GOD COMMENDED HIS LOVE TOWARD US

For when we were yet without strength,
in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
For scarcely for a righteous man will one
die: yet peradventure for a good man
some would even dare to die.  But God
commendeth his love toward us, in that,
while we were yet sinners, Christ
died for us.

THE JUST SHALL LIVE BY FAITH

For I am not ashamed of the gospel
of Christ: for it is the power of God
unto salvation to every one that
believeth; to the Jew first, and also
to the Greek. For therein is the
righteousness of God revealed from
faith to faith: as it is written, The
just shall live by faith.

THOU SHALT BE A CROWN OF GLORY

And the Gentiles shall see thy righteousness,
and all kings thy glory: and thou shalt be
called by a new name, which the mouth
of the LORD shall name. Thou shalt also
be a crown of glory in the hand of the LORD,
and a royal diadem in the hand of thy God.
Thou shalt no more be termed Forsaken; neither
shall thy land any more be termed Desolate:
but thou shalt be called Hephzibah, and
thy land Beulah: for the LORD delighteth
in thee, and thy land shall be married.

SPRING FORTH BEFORE ALL NATIONS

Photo provided by Kay Rowe

For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as
the garden causeth the things that are sown in it
to spring forth; so the Lord GOD will cause
righteousness and praise to spring forth before
all the nations.  For Zion’s sake
will I not
hold my peace, and for Jerusalem’s sake
I will not
rest, until the righteousness thereof go
forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof
as a lamp that burneth.

FOLLOW AFTER RIGHTEOUSNESS

There is treasure to be desired and oil in the

righteousness and mercy findeth life,
righteousness, and honour.

HOLY IS THY NAME

Photographer Kay Rowe

After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father
which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in
earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our
daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as
we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into
temptation, but deliver us from evil: For
thine is the kingdom, and the power, and
the glory, for ever. Amen.  For if ye forgive
men their trespasses, your heavenly
Father will also forgive you:  But if ye
forgive not men their trespasses, neither
will your Father forgive your trespasses.
