WHAT DO YOUR SAILS LOOK LIKE?

Have you ever noticed the sails on a ship? The ship's hull doesn't have a lot of beauty but when the winds pick up and the sails are lifted, the ship takes on a look of majesty. It shows a symbol of strength as the winds become intensified.

What would happen if the fisherman didn't take time to purchase the sails for his ship? What if when they were torn and destroyed he went out to sea without repairing them, or if he left the anchor lying on the dock thinking it was useless?

The winds would come and the ship would have no protection and guidance. There would be no way to anchor down without the proper equipment. The ship would be tossed around furiously and become broken apart by the fierce winds.

Before you set out on the course of life be sure and check your sails. Make sure none of them need repaired. You may be like many who don't even have sails for their ships. Before entering the sea's of life take the time and gather the appropriate sails you need in order to face the winds. Take the anchor with you instead of leaving it behind.

Listed below are a few wonderful sails. You can find each of them in the word of God. Take the time to gather what you need for the trip you will be facing. As you are preparing your ship be sure to invite the Lord to come along, for his is the "Master of the Wind" and the "Anchor of your Soul."

Ø  Hope - Lamentations 3:24 The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.

Ø  Peace - Colossians 3:15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful

Ø  Trust - Proverbs 3: 5-6 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Ø  Patience - II Thessalonians 3:5 And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.

Ø  Assurance - John 3:16 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Ø  Endurance - Revelation 3:10-11 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.

Ø  Faith - Romans 3:22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

It's during these winds that we show the Lord is in control of our ship. These are the times the world sees what we are really made of.

As the winds start to blow and we lift those sails it shows the majesty of Jesus Christ living in and through you. As the storms become intense it will be the anchor that keeps your ship from being destroyed.
