Yesterday I called my dear friend, Pam McCollister who
lost her husband on Sunday morning in a car accident.
Have you ever lost someone dear to you? I have and
when I did my grief was so great I thought life could
not go on. I don't think I gave many people hope
during my time of grieving but there are two
ladies I have met in my lifetime that have
put hope, faith and love for Christ in the
most beautiful display ever.
Dana Bailey when she lost her teenage son
and Pam McCollister who lost her husband never
questioned God's plan but enbraced it and became
testimonies of God's grace and abundant assurance
that this life can take a body away from us for
a season but that is not the end of the stroy.
The
greatest story is yet to be seen as
we
pass from this life to eternity and meet
the
ones we loved so much, prayed for so long,
and
shared the gospel of Jesus Christ with.
It
will be a time to see those who were crippled
or
ill in the earthly bodies no longer suffering
but
worshiping their God and Savior the
Lord
Jesus Christ in that wonderful city he
has
prepared for us.
We
always have our hearts and minds
set
on those treasures in heaven but when
we
lose a loved one so dear, our hearts
are
set that much more on that heavenly
treasure
where nothing can take it away.
Lay
not up for yourselves treasures upon
earth,
where moth and rust doth corrupt, and
where
thieves break through and steal: But
lay
up for yourselves treasures in heaven,
where
neither moth nor rust doth corrupt,
and
where thieves do not break through nor steal:
For
where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Matthew
6:19-20
