THE CROSS, THE TOMB AND THE CHRIST

Photo provided by Tammy Stein Dore

Several years ago I composed a song called, "Empty I Come to You".  This song sets the tone for what is on my heart today.  There will be many times in our lives that we find ourselves empty.  Focusing on the wrong thing can only set your heart into despair.  Focusing on the right things can set our heart to hope and victory and set your feet on the path to a brighter tomorrow.

As you struggle daily you will be given things to focus on just as Mary the mother of Jesus and his followers were given.  It's the hope that her Son would truly rise from the dead and be victorious that carried her through the storms. It was the hope that carried the followers of Christ though and made them stand firm after they had seen their blessed hope come forth from the grave.

The cross; rough, unappealing, painful and a place for the unwanted of the world.

The cross, a place that holds defeat

The cross; a place that holds criminals

The cross; a place that holds sorrow

The cross, a place that holds death

The cross; a place that leaves families defeated and empty inside.

The tomb, cold, dark and uninviting; yet the place they placed the body of Jesus Christ when removed from the cross.

The tomb; a place that holds no glory

The tomb, a place that holds no hope.

The tomb, a place that holds no future.

The tomb, a place that holds no power.

The tomb; a place that holds no life

The tomb; a place that holds no understanding

The tomb a place that leaves the family defeated and empty inside.

Then there is the Christ.

The Christ gave sight to the blind

The Christ gave strength to the crippled

The Christ gave sound to the deaf

The Christ gave children to the barren

The Christ gave healing to the broken-hearted

The Christ gave compassion for the trodden

The Christ gave answers to the pray warriors

The Christ gave wisdom to the seekers

The Christ gave meaning to the cross

The Christ gave victory to the tomb

The Christ gave understanding of the future

The Christ gave reason for today

The Christ gave hope for tomorrow

The Christ gave grace to the sinner

The Christ gave salvation to the lost in darkness

Christ a man that leaves families filled with grace, peace, joy and hope and gives meaning to the cross, empty tomb and trials in our lives.

Christ gave all he had to all he loved and your name is on the list of the things above that Christ gave, it's up to you to receive what he freely is giving.  Let Christ love shine through you.

John 1:12-14

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.  And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
